The Omni opened in 1972 and Springsteen signed with Columbia Records that same year, and the first Wednesday, April 11 after that was 1973.

James Brown was pissed that he wasn't the headliner for that show. He said he worked harder in that show than in any other in his career, and as the Stones stood watching in the wings, they had no desire to follow Brown.
