Description:
The Messenger-Inquirer, which publishes seven days a week in Owensboro, KY, is seeking a talented sports writer who can provide top-notch coverage of the local sports scene for our paper, as well as our sister publication, The Messenger in Madisonville, KY.
The two publications cover a combined 14 high schools and three colleges, including the University of Kentucky. We're looking for someone with strong writing skills, who can both capture the action on the field and find the compelling stories off it . Beyond that, we need someone with the organizational and communication skillis necessary to work with multiple athletic programs.
At least two years of reporting experience is preferred, but we are also willing to work with the right entry-level candidate who has experience at a college publication and/or internships.
