Big time high school athletes, turned into big time wrestlers by father Fritz, then most of them got into drugs and killed themselves. Kevin's the only one left, and I think he made his peace with wrestling fairly recently (he showed up at an episode of Monday Night Raw a few months ago or so).

I watched the DVD "Heroes of World Class" a couple of months ago; it's the story of the Von Erichs and the rise and spectacular fall of World Class Championship Wrestling, Fritz's organization based in Dallas. Really fascinating stuff, especially since I grew up watching the old NWA and then WCCW shows from the Dallas Sportatorium, Will Rogers Coliseum and North Side Coliseum. Kevin Von Erich was interviewed throughout the DVD, and he seemed at peace with what all went on. He had lived on the family ranch for years, and just after the DVD was released, he moved with his family to Hawaii.

The local PBS station runs an outstanding documentary on the Von Erich family from time to time. I also saw a Von Erich DVD last time I was in Fry's (losing my mind!).

By the way...as far back as I can remember everyone in my family has been referring to the DRC as the "Wretched Chronicle."
