The Robesonian, an award-winning, six-day-a-week newspaper in Southeastern North Carolina, is looking for a sports reporter. The successful candidate would have excellent writing skills, a passion for sports, and a strong work ethic. Coverage for the two-person sports staff is mostly the county's six high schools and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, a D2 school with football and 15 other intercollegiate sports. There is an occasional opportunity to cover ACC athletics, and other larger events in the area as time allows. Pay is competitive and benefits are solid.
This is an ideal position for someone fresh out of college looking to hone their writing skills further. Experience writing for another publication is a plus.
