Description:
Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers seeks a sports multimedia journalist who can produce daily enterprise and breaking news on all platforms - web, tablet, mobile and print. This reporter must be well-versed in all sports, and be able to write on them at any level. The ideal candidate must have the ability to develop sources on multiple sports over a three-county area, and be non-stop in building that source list. The position requires a candidate who is proficient in using Twitter - and other forms of social media - to break news as it happens and to update those stories as warranted. This reporter must also be able to engage audiences on social media, work closely with the department’s digital producer to promote their work and embrace the digital focus of this newsroom. Candidates should realize that if the need arises, that they would jump in to help with coverage of news/events that may be outside of sports. The reporter would work out of the Stuart office and be available for weekends/holidays shifts. The ideal candidate already has a strong background in social media audience engagement and at least three years of reporting experience. A valid clean Florida drivers' license is required.
