The South Florida Sun Sentinel is seeking a sports reporting summer intern. This is an intensive 11-week program, from early June to mid August, that offers hands-on experience and training. We pay our interns $8.05/hour for 40 hours/week.
Our intern's assignments last summer included stories about the Dolphins, Marlins and Hurricanes, and he also wrote several features on local athletes ahead of the Olympics. With baseball’s All-Star Game in Miami this summer, we anticipate our intern assisting with that coverage.
Candidates must have experience working for a campus newspaper or off-campus publication and at least one previous internship at a newspaper or major website. We prefer juniors and seniors. We also accept graduate students. Must have reliable transportation.
