Kudos on the thread title.

I’ve eaten alligator and it was fine. How different could this be? Bring on the Snake Surprise.

I was surprised by the number of feral chickens roaming Honolulu. They stay away from the more populated areas, but you can easily spot them.

The chickens overrun Key West. Iguanas, pythons and feral hogs overrun the Everglades.

Do they still have the bounty on pythons in Florida? A few years back I remember reading some stories about guys making, if not a living then some decent side gig cash, by going into the Everglades and hunting pythons to collect $10 or $20 a snake, or whatever it was the state was offering to try and control the population.

Also, there is no shortage of iguanas in Key West. I don't think they're regarded as good eatin' though.

When we visited Kauai five years ago, someone told us an easy way to tell a tourist driver from a local driver is the tourist avoids chickens/roosters in the road. A local driver aims for them.
