so, i've always been curious. why do people with no connection to our business come to this site?

seriously, i don't go to insurance salesmen boards and tell them what they should do in their job, why do people with no connection to our industry (other than they wish they could do it) come here?

I'd guess that some just want to talk sports. I think there are others that just want to ***** about the industry and reporters and how we do our jobs.

People on the outside looking in have this assumption that all we do is sit around on our well-marbled bottoms and shoot the **** about sports all day long. They're shocked to find that, unlike many of them, we have lives, outside interests and actual work we have to do.

Your typical fanboy simply sees something with "sports" in the title and assumes this would be just like all the other places he goes to shoot off ignorant **** about sports.

And, granted, there is ignorant **** by the bargeload on here at times. Just, thankfully, not that vintage.
