So I think my Reddit account, which I don’t use, got hacked. Yesterday, I began receiving notifications that I had signed up for several porn-related subthreads.

I hadn’t actually used the app since I signed up for it awhile back to read some DIY stuff.

Today, I was notified that I have been permanently banned for harassment. Unfortunately, because I’m permanently banned, I can’t log in to see what the hell is going on or notify the site that My account was likely compromised.

Now, I don’t particularly care that I can’t get into the app. However, I’m wondering if I need to be concerned about whatever trail has been left behind or if the hackers can misrepresent me moving forward in some way (I assume not since my account is no longer active).

Anyone have any thoughts/advice/similar experiences?

No, nothing similar, but you can try using Twitter or email to ask them to review the IP address on your account. If they used a VPN you might be screwed. You might not get the account back but they might ether it for you.

Hadn’t thought of Twitter. That’s a good idea.
