Bigpern is now the proud father of Lilpern, who was born Wednesday at 8:53 a.m. Weighing in at 7 pounds, 9.76 ounces and measuring 20 inches long, he is due to make his first start for the Yankees on his birthday, April 11, 2032.

It may be cliche, but I never could have expected to feel for any living thing the way I feel about him. Seeing him open his eyes for the first time, a moment I've been dreaming of for months, absolutely wrecked me in the best way I could have ever imagined.

What an awe-inspiring experience today was.

I took this when he grabbed my finger about 30 seconds after he opened his eyes.
