Those are cool photos on the paper's website. I wonder if the shooter was there doing a feature on the hawks at the stadium when one attacked the girl. What are the odds?

Like Ace, I'm wondering why the Globe's photog was randomly there at the time all of this happened. Pretty good stuff.

I wonder if the photog didn't spook the bird into leaving that perch and attacking the girl.

I wondered the same thing. That bird looked pissed off in the next-to-last photo.

It was the second incident with a hawk in the park in the last two days. It has been common for the birds to take up residence in the stadium rafters in the off-season, dining on rats and mice when the park is quiet.

That's a comforting thought. I wonder what lives in Anaheim's stadium in the offseason.

I thought this was going to be a thread on that long-awaited Hawk Harrelson-Jay Mariotti fight.
We're all winners if those two blowhard idiots rumble.

They were having a photo-op, their annual "design changes for home opener" deal this afternoon, which is why photographers and videographers were present.

Only if neither survives.

Not saying that is, but this almost looks photoshopped:

That hawk looks like he's about ready to take out the photog.
