This is stupid. If we didn't have a running thread, the only threads on the first page would have been about the Colts/Pats game. We don't need six threads that say the same thing in a new variation. All of this was started because flying headbutt was mad when a thread got started. As someone on the thread posted, if you don't like that a Super Bowl thread was started, don't ****ing read it. It's pretty simple.

Doubtful, but yeah there'd be quite a few threads on it simply because it was the biggest game of the day.

I really believe the explosion of running threads -- although they were started with the best of intentions -- have seriously diluted the quality of posts on the board in recent weeks. I don't think I'm the only one out here who believes this.

I think the high number of ftards dilutes the quality.

Well, we now have 6...count 'em 6... NFL/Colts/Manning/Super Bowl/Black coaches threads that are basically variations on the same theme.
Is that better?

It's better to have separate threads on the discussion of numerous topics, IMO. There's no need to clutter up one thread with all this.

It's like a sidebar -- it's probably not worth discussing in the main story, but it's still something worth discussing.

I don't disagree with this post, necessarily. The thread regarding the black coaches aspect or a thread regarding the two best place kickers in the NFL are not bad threads to have, but during the game, there needs to be one thread that people can post on. Otherwise, there's going to be 30 new threads just saying, "Did you see that great TD pass?"

And that's why we have a Webmaster and volunteer moderators who can compile those type of threads into one all-encompassing thread. Not trying to pile on Moddy's (or Gutter's) already heavy workload, but hey, he agreed to do it.

Yes, we should talk about everything related to the biggest sporting event in the world on one thread. That's it. Nothing anywhere else.

But then again, the Deciders of All That Is Relevant, Necessary, and Worthy of Discussion declared this stupid. So I guess that's your answer, Freelance.

Keep reading the posts before you respond. Then get back to me.

Start a running thread about how in love you are.

I also know that people on the board don't want to be forced to read 15 different threads that all say the same thing. As I said, you're more than right about the sidebar issues, but some of these threads say the same thing the running thread said and people are basically copying and pasting their responses.

I'm sorry that you want to live vicariously through Doc and me, but I have no reason to start a running thread about how in love I am. If I want to discuss that with people on this board, we will discuss it via IM or PM. Any thread that has been started about the two of us has been generated in need for ideas or suggestions.

There was NO need for you to be a complete ass on this issue. At least Freelance Hack has some decorum in his responses. You have no class, whatsoever; and yes, you're becoming a troll of sorts.

My spawning of this entire discussion hours ago had nothing to do with you, your favorite teams, or anything to do with you. I'd have posted the same thing no matter who started it. I, like Freelance, was just fed up with it. But right away you accused me of making it all about you. Just like everything else on this board that doesn't deal with JDV is. I have plenty of class and decorum, but I'm (pathetically too, I'll agree) stooping down to your levels. There's nothing trollish about me at all. Except in your mind where everything is all about you, even though I haven't even bothered with you in weeks.

Headbutt has a wart on his ****. He showed it to me, even though I begged for my eyes to be ripped out.

If that makes him a troll, then by golly, he's the biggest troll I know.

If Headbutt is a troll, then I stand with the trolls.

He's been here for a long time, contributing good stuff. Longer than 99 percent of you. Chill out.

I prefer this not to be a referendum on myself, or the giant wart on my ******. And I'd like to think that the clashes I've had with SC are over, and there is peace amongst us. Hell we even have some common interests.

And if Dyepack things I'm an ftard, then I must be okay.

You mean you have a secret man crush on Jake Plummer? Who knew? ;)

I also "thing" that you smell Gary Williams' armpits after the game.

I think I'll go on clicking on certain threads that interest me, and if I happen to click on one that seemed interesting but proved otherwise, I will vow to not click on that thread again.

And then if I click on a thread that seemed very similar to another one that I previously enjoyed, I will go back and enjoy the previous thread without returning to the seemingly redundant threat I just viewed.

Unless, of course, someone on the first thread references something relevant from the redundant thread, in which case I will have to take a look so I can keep up to speed with the rest of the posters on the first thread.

Then when I'm done, I will turn off my computer, head outside and leave behind the major social issues that are plaguing this Web site. The real world, in comparison, is so simplistic and inconsequential...

Stooping down to her level? What the hell does that even mean? She doesn't go on threads and randomly attack people or thread topics, unlike you. She isn't part of a clique whose sole purpose seems to be attacking people and trying to make them miserable. I suppose we should have expected this, though. Your clique always seems to stick together, right or wrong, and no one in it ever seems to put a stop to the nonsense some of the other members spew forth with stunning regularity.

You don't like that I started a running thread? Great. Don't click on it. Who are you to decide board policy around here? If Moddy has a problem with a running thread, let him do something about it. Or Gutter. Or Webby.

I'm sorry this board isn't the same as it was in the "good old days." Deal with it, because it will never be that way again.

I'm only following your lead, Sheriff. You've long been the decider when it comes to legitimate and illegitimate threads.

Question, flying headbutt...

Do you consider the NIAFL thread a running thread? That was a serious question, too. It was not an attempt to attack anyone.

Enough, FH. Leave spup alone. Just drop it. You're sounding petty. If it makes you feel better, go all spnited on me and hurl insults my way. I can handle it.
