I don't think so, Meat. Kid touches it, it hits the floor in bounds, and the clock should not stop until the reporter/scorekeeper in the second row there touches it. It was DEFINITELY longer than .2, and probably about a second all told.

Just curious, why did that Memphis player have his jersey off already, wearing just the wife-beater top? Is this AAU?

Memphis in the Elite Eight two years running? Amazing. Maybe Calipari ought to coach Kentucky.

No one got hosed. No one noticed that when the Kansas player touched the ball it did not go out of bounds? It landed on the floor IN BOUNDS. Jesus, CBS, someone in the damn truck has to have noticed this. Look at the 1,000 freakin' screens in your truck!

I can see more than .2, but a full second? I would have gone for .5 or .6 myself, but I guess that's why they're calling the game on the floor and I'm home from a high school lacrosse game posting here.

EDIT: And Greg Gumbel finally pointed out that the ball hit the floor first. So my objection is there still, but I'm not exactly going to push it either.

if you can, watch it again and use this: http://tools.arantius.com/stopwatch

From the time the kid touches the ball to when the scorekeeper reaches up and grabs it, I've got it right around 1.1

I agree that C-USA competition isn't much.
We'll see how overrated Memphis is vs. Suckeyes/Cocky Top.

Memphis/Tenn. would be a hell of a game.

"Cocky Top" has already beaten Memphis once this year. Killed it, actually. 76-58

Thank you, trifecta and mert.

You guys beat me to it.

It seemed pretty clear that the ball bounced inbounds and technically wasn't out of bounds until it hit that lady on press row.

How that has yet to dawn upon anyone from CBS is beyond me. I really hope the boys at Around the Horn or PTI don't get all holier than thou trying to ***** out the refs on this one tomorrow.

You like being let down, don't you?
