He's going to have to do more than beat Juan Ignacio Chela --- impressive as it was --- to become a factor in a red clay tournament. I think Murray's best chance may be on a hard court. Suits his game and I suspect the pressure on him at Wimbledon year after year may be too much to handle, just as it was for Tim Henman.

He's world No.3 and has a 6-2 record against Federer all-time.

Saying outside of Nadal, Federer and Djokovic men's tennis is a sham is way off.

And del Potro is quickly becoming a factor as well. To say men's tennis consists of essentially three people is kinda silly.

Sorry, but that's the truth right now. I would give you 50-1 odds of anyone else winning the title.

You can take Djokovic and Federer off the list and the odds would be the same.

And there goes Blake, to a qualifier.

Are you surprised? He's still not made the second week of a major (I think).

Two U.S. men advanced, neither of them the one I thought had a shot at the second week (Osednick got a really ****ty draw, Gilles Simon in the first round. Booo!)

He reached the quarterfinals of the U.S. and Australian Opens in the past.

Eh, my bad.

They just suspended the Santoro match with him down in the fourth set 5-3 to Rouches (sp) who's up in sets. Weird. The Williams sisters are still playing doubles. The women are tougher than the blind guys!

Eh, Santoro's old, he can't see properly anymore.

I think this is his final bow.

Leonardo Mayer actually had some game, particularly on the serve and forehand. Me thinks he might become a regular tour guy. But once Blake fell behind, he didn't seem to change tactics or really even try very much in the third set.

What on earth has happened to Nicole Vaidisova? She was a top 10 player and two-time Slam semifinalist as recently as two years ago. Now she's unseeded and flamed out against Virginia Ruano Pascual in the first round.

Did she get injured like Sharapova did?

Well, crap. It's just the taped coverage. Nevermind.

Yeah. he's cool. Nice five-game run to close out the third, don't you think?

I think he makes the semis, then falls to Nadal.

Murray out to either Marin Cilic in the round of 16, or Fernando Gonzalez in the quarterfinals.

Venus Williams loses first set in tiebreak, before match suspended for the day. Never easy for Venus on red clay.

Sharapova looks surprisingly good --- well, her game, other parts look as good as ever. Not saying she'll contend, but seems no worse for not having played in the last 10 months.

Glad Venus battled through there.

Love the dress she's wearing this week.

Really? I think it's hideous, not as hideous as that thing Serena wore in the first round, but not attractive.

I don't like the camoishness of it.
