Running 2007 MLB Post-Season Thread

Anyone know if this is a game to be broadcast outside the local markets (i.e. the local FSN networks).

Is it on TBS? Fox? ESPN?

Red Sox-Angels... The best series of the lot.
This one could definitely go five, hope it doesn't, but it probably will. Sox in five.

Yanks-Indians...
If the Tribe pitching can stop the bigtime Yankee offense, Cleveland wins the series and the Spanks go home early again. Cleveland in four.

I think the Red Sox will roll the Angels. Anaheim's pitching is extremely sketchy on the road, and Fenway has been a house of horrors for the Angels.

As far as the Yankees series, I really have no idea. I could see the Yankees sweeping the Indians and I could see the Indians treating the Yankees like a ***** - much like the Tigers did last year.

It really all comes down to the Yankees starting pitching. If they can keep them in games the Yankees will win that series.

I picked the Angels long ago and I'm sticking with them. Playoff baseball isn't always about stats, percentages, probabilities and numbers (read: The reason the A's never advanced a little while back and why Macha lost his job)

It's sometimes about instinct, and Scioscia - and Leyland for that matter, if the Tigers had made it - has the best in the game.

The Angels just find ways to win, and a lot of it has to do with Scioscia. I firmly believe that. The guy takes more chances than anyone else - and they always seem to pay off.

Is Kelvim Escobar healthy? I thought I read somewhere that he was injured, but I just searched and couldn't find anything.
The Angels lineup scares me. It is the best in the AL because of the way they create runs. I definitely could see Anaheim winning it all.
Should be interesting.

Escobar seems to be healthy, but you never know at this point of the season. He looked fine in his tuneup start this weekend, but he had been shelled the two starts before that.

I think he's hit a bit of a wall, like Matsuzaka, so I don't know how effective he'll be. Hopefully, he'll be in form ... but maybe he won't be.

At any rate, the Angels won't be relying on Santana for ****. Jered Weaver will be the Game 3 starter, and Joe Saunders is next in line. Then Colon. Or Chuck Finley. Or Jim Abbott ... way the **** before Santana.

Yeah, I typed the Santana part without thinking. I did a little research and realized they weren't using him anymore.
I think both AL series have the potential to be really great 5-game sets.

God I love October. Finished up all my work for the day early so I could get to the bar and watch Padres-Rockies. This is just awesome (good thing is fanboy doesn't cover MLB! I geek out way too much this time of year).

Escobar has been pitching most of the season with some kind of knee problem. He said that it was bothering him more around the beginning of September and hasn't pitched as well since then.

Maybe the ironic thing about this whole season is the hubbub given the Phils for their 10,000th career loss, and their miracle comeback to win the division.

I'm going to says Phila over New York in the World Series. And god help the city of brotherly love when that happens, brother.

Funny you should say that (in jest I hope), because a Yankee fan friend was bitching this off-season about how long it's been since they won a World Series. Sigh.
