RIP Rory Spears

Saddens me so much to hear of the passing of Chicago radio guy and golf journalist Rory Spears. I always enjoyed seeing and catching up with Rory every year, which just happened again in Pinehurst in January. Such a genuine soul, and so good to people.

When I went to G3 and G4 of the Cubs World Series in 2016, Rory found me at Wrigley and gave me the WS media guide from the press box. Such a lovely gesture and impossibly kind.

I knew him well. A great guy. Huge void in the Chicago golf scene.

RIP to a great guy. There are a handful of guys who know everyone in Chicago golf and he was one of them. He absolutely will be sorely missed.
