Aww ****. Hands down one of those actors who just added a gravitas to everything he was in. RIP

Slicing garlic with a razor blade in the heavens for another feast with Ray Liotta and the guys.

Maybe not in the TV movie where he played Joe Torre. Or the movie about Jake LaMotta that wasn't called Raging Bull. But in most things.

Swell actor. B+ tenor.

May his memory be a blessing.

Wish they had kept him on L&O longer.
Also great cameo in The Firm.
I think he was on a short term deal as a favor, because George Dzundza didn't like the show (he thought he would be more of the lead, instead of it being an ensemble). I kind of wonder if they altered much of the plan even though the actors changed, because Sorvino's character also leaves the force after being shot in the line of duty.

When I was in law school, L&O rented multiple apartments in a building where they were filming a scene. Sorvino hung out in a friend’s apartment watching MNF while they were setting up/between takes and my friend and his roommates said Sorvino was a great guy and genuinely curious about what everyone was studying/doing.

Sorvino did about 30 episodes, but left because he felt the schedule was too demanding and that it was interfering with his plans to sing opera.

I always heard Sorvino hated all the outdoor scenes they shot in L&O - hated working in the cold.

Probaly the first thing I saw him in. Hilarious.
