Re: Mike Penner Dies

Thoughts and prayers for his family, and I hope that wherever Mike is now, he's happy and comfortable.

Suicide. May his soul finally find the peace his body never had.

Re: Mike Penner Dies

Anyone know why he went back to Mike Penner last year?

Re: Mike Penner Dies

a great person, one of the best colleagues, period. this is just....brutal. godspeed, mike.

I never wanted to say it out loud, but I was afraid of this possibility ever since he went back to his Mike Penner identity. It just seemed like he had to be a very conflicted person. RIP.

One of the best writers I ever worked with, and a great guy on top of it. One can only wonder what he went through in these past few years. We talked about getting together on one of my California visits and never did. I certainly wish now I had. I'll miss him.

Sad. Another one of those things that we shouldn't need, but too frequently do, to remind us what's important and what's not. RIP.

There's not many worse feelings than feeling like you don't belong.

RIP.

So sad. I hope his family was close to him and supported him during his transitional period, etc., so he had some periods of peace the past few years. I hope he wasn't in living hell all the time. Sounds like his newspaper friends were very supportive. Rest in peace. Prayers for all.

Never met Mike, but read him a lot while growing up and living in SoCal. Always enjoyed his writing, and have always heard good things about him.

RIP.

A tragedy. I never knew him, but I rooted for him ever since he adopted the Christine Daniels ID.

TigerVols said it best. Hopefully Mike has finally found peace. RIP.

This.

Just a heartbreaking story. Can't even imagine the mental anguish he had to live with. RIP Mike.
