Holy crap. Watched him on Indians games in the late 80s, early 90s before I moved. I wouldn't have guessed him to be 50-ish then.

Not old enough to remember much of his playing days, but he was a terrific analyst and an even better guy.

RIP, Mr. Hegan.

Voice of my youth on Brewers TV games. Then my family moved to NE Ohio ... and there he was again doing Indians broadcasts.

The man put up with Tom Hamilton screaming for however many years and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

His son Shawn was in sports PR last I knew. Worked for the AHL (then IHL) team in town about 15 years ago. I believe he is now working in marketing for the PGA Tour.
