Yes, a legend all the way.

Pure Prairie League had a great tribute song.

Glad to say I saw him live (w/ Alabama and The Judds no less). A true country singer. Still find it amazing he was there in the audience during Johnny Cash's San Quentin concerts.
RIP Hag.

Damn. I had been telling my wife for years that I wanted to see Merle in concert, but I never did. At least I have the box set I can listen to.

Reckon it's time to see Chuck Berry before it's too late with him, too.

Saw him a number of times, last one being on the tour he did with Ray Price and Willie. Willie's the last one left.

Had tickets to go see him about 15 years ago. Can't remember why I gave them away. Wish I had seen him perform.

Only a great song like "Okie From Muskogee" can make non-fans of that genre appreciate it.

RIP, Merle.

I was on both of their websites last night, looking at tour dates for this very reason. I got a chance to see him sing a couple of songs at a fundraiser for the Hall of Fame a few years back.

I'd see Berry this weekend, but he's in Denmark and Moscow. He'll be back in St. Louis in about a month.

RIP, Merle.

Based solely on his songs, it's interesting that he seems to have become more liberal as he got older.

Probably that stretch in the pokie.
