Arizona Cardinals have announced the franchise's legendary Hall of Fame safety and longtime front office executive has died. Man, that dude was tough.

In the book "One More July: A Football Dialogue with Bill Curry: by George Plimpton Curry says that Alex Hawkins, in his stint as a color commentator on CBS, had this take on someone (probably Wilson) playing with casts on both hands. "He must really find out who his friends are when he goes to the men's room".

The St. Louis Cardinals never got much TV exposure in Canada where we would get one, maybe 2, games on a Sunday and it was usually the Packers, Giants, Vikings or Cowboys. After seeing Wilson play one Sunday he instantly became my favourite player in the NFL. I saw him play maybe 5-6 games on TV and he was the most dominant player in every game. He’s an example of a ‘great’ football player. Hope there is a tribute to him on one of the pre game shows today.
