Jim Ducibella, an acclaimed writer and treasured friend, dies at 73: ‘He was impossible not to like’

I think this should be a shareable version. Duce was the back-page columnist for our association's magazine for the last two decades. Great golf writer, great person. Last message I got from him was in mid-March when I was out of the country with him saying he was going into palliative care and wouldn't be able to write the next column. He went downhill fast but left on his own terms, and I'm so glad he went peacefully in his sleep with his wife by his side. Will be attending his funeral. You don't just replace someone with the institutional knowledge and thoughtful touch that Duce had, so that's a challenge I'll work through. RIP Duce. He'll be missed.

He treated me with respect when I deserved none.
