When I researched RAYE OF LIGHT, not everyone returned my calls. But Jesse Jackson did, and he provided me insight on what
it meant to African Americans to see Black stars excelling at Michigan State with their opportunities under Biggie Munn and Duffy
in the 1954 and 1956 Rose Bowls Daugherty and with Jimmy Raye playing quarterback on the Spartans' 1965 and 1966 national
title teams.
