First time I saw him on Law and Order he played a creepy security guard. Really an amazing actor. Could you say someone "slithered" into roles? He did.

Whitlock also co-starred in an overlooked movie called "Cedar Rapids," staring Ed Helms as a sheltered insurance agent who leaves his small Wisconsin hometown for the first time for a company convention in, yes, Cedar Rapids. Whitlock played one of the other agents the Helms character befriends (along with John C. Reilly and Anne Heche). Whitlock played a very friendly, amicable sort named Ron Wilkes who's a fan of the TV show -- wait for it -- "The Wire." They have a scene where he impersonates Omar Little to get our group out of a little pickle with some local brutes. It kind of amusing seeing them do all this meta stuff with Wilkes and Whitlock's more well-known series.

Honestly, was just thinking about Clay Davis this morning while I was lying in bed.

Everything I recall seeing him play, he was a creep. In a "Law & Order" episode, I believe he was a Bible-toting child killer.

Yeah, the security guard. L and O was so good back in the day when it first started. I remember seeing Phillip Seymour Hoffman for the first time playing a doofus. But in the whitlock ep in question, Briscoe and Logan are interviewing everyone who may have seen the kid and Whitlock was just one of many who said "yeah, I saw him, then he went that way" kind of thing...and then on to the next person - then they end up circling back to Whitlock's character and he just drops a bomb on the detectives - "Well, I had to kill them, they were looking at dirty magazines" or something like that.... I wish I could find the clip.
