Generally, apnea is associated with obesity.

Anyhoo, I can understand movie stars having issues with sleeping, and with partying. After all, when they're on the job, they're working 16-18 hour days for 3-4 months. Then when the shoot is over, there's a lot of sudden free time, and the lingering feeling of almost always having to be on the clock, having to have a rush. If you don't have the rush from the shoot, you find something else to provide adrenaline. Or you crash.
I'm so interested to find out if apnea had anything to do with it.

The maid heard him snoring hard and he was hardly getting sleep.

Two big red apnea flags. You can never get to REM when your breathing is interrupted when your muscles relax.

Apnea? What about heroin and cocaine? Michelle Williams tossed him out of the house because of his drug use.

He had problems sleeping because he was doing coke and heroin. Playing the Joker made it hard for him to sleep. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

I'm fully expecting you are right... but I'm just saying that the two factoids I mentioned also can be symptoms of something else.

People react differently to difference medicines, but sleeping medicine has been really, really, really good for me.

Same thing I thought. It clicked on the link going, "What has the crazy dude done this time?"
Turns out I was just expecting a different Crazy "Christian" Gibson.

Though Mel Gibson expressed his sorrow this week over the death of Heath Ledger, he had actually distanced himself from the younger Australian actor in the years since Ledger played a gay cowboy in "Brokeback Mountain," according to the New York Daily News.

...Ledger asked Gibson whether he should play the part of Ennis, and "Gibson strongly counseled against it. The role apparently ran counter to Gibson's morality. And he felt that it would ruin Heath's career," the News reported.
