Nah, apparently there was a separate, unrelated problem with the video card and some other stuff. The BIOS screen wouldn't even load anymore. Took it to Geek Squad and they said it would cost just as much to fix all the problems as it would be to buy a new computer, so it wasn't worth the hassle.

Luckily, I backed up all my files first. Just gotta remember not to install the HD drivers when my new computer arrives, and treat it like a big flash drive instead (which is how I planned to use it all along.)
