My parents and my uncle (who stayed friends with him) went to high school with him. That's really all I have.

I used to hear about him a lot when I was a kid, and I think I met him when I was in teens, but "Steve and Edie" weren't high on my playlist at that time in my life.

My aunt and mom grew up a couple of blocks from him although my aunt (who is a year or so younger) went to a different HS. There was a certain neighborhood pride, although his music seemed from a completely different time.
