I finally had the time to watch the MLB Net doc on Uecker a few weeks ago. It’s really well done.
RIP to another American original.
RIP to another American original.
If the Springfield Nuclear Plant baseball team on the Simpsons was chock full of All-Stars and future HOFers, Uecker got a group of Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, Johnny Bench, Reggie Jackson, Harmon Killebrew and Mickey Mantle to cameo together on Mr. Belvedere.MLB Network should run a Mr. Belvedere marathon.
RIP to an all-timer.
After this place, my first thought was he'd go right through the pearly gates and sit down next to Carson at the desk.Uecker on Carson in response to a question from Johnny. "My first contract with the Cardinals was for $500. It wasn't much, but it was all my parents had."
Oh
My
God
Bob Uecker describing a furry convention is at least the equal of Vin Scully being an accessory to murder in Nevada.
It just might. It's currently airing tribute programming.MLB Network should run a Mr. Belvedere marathon.
RIP to an all-timer.
"In case you haven't noticed, and judging by the attendance figures, you haven't..."Harry Doyle is one of my favorite movie characters of all time
Just checking out his stats in baseball-reference. He once drew an intentional walk from Sandy Koufax. That must've been some game situation. PS: He had two homers off Sandy too.
And to think there were some dimwits out there who wanted Uecker to do an inning on TV the last time the Cleveland baseball team was in the World Series."In case you haven't noticed, and judging by the attendance figures, you haven't..."
