RIP Betty White

If you're curious about Betty's TV work (outside of Golden Girls / MTM), there is a great documentary on Netflix called Betty White: First Lady of Television. Very informative. Also, showed her still answering fan mail by hand with her assistant. What a classy lady she was. The world is a little less bright without her.

I saw that too. Highly recommended.

Have too many times on this board. Not a Carter fan.
Won't celebrate his death, of course (which was the context of this mention). That's saved for the truly evil few. Still, without rehashing in detail, in his celebrated post-presidency, there wasn't a murderous tyrant in the world he wouldn't eagerly smile and shake hands with. I guess good for him that he lived long enough to see trump erase any question that he might have been our nation's worst president, in the same way I'm glad Rich Kotite lived to see Adam Gase.

Oh, I will give you no break. Your list has many accidental presidents. Carter and Trump were both elected. Neither Harrison belongs there, but what could the first one have possibly done to merit inclusion? At this end of the pool, a short tenure is a mitigating factor.

Not directed at you, but there's a thriving 21st century anti-Carter industry in this country I've never much understood, and in which Mollie Hemingway has made a few bucks.

Just pointing out an oddball sidebar on the Betty White RIP thread.

Add: not sure where Betty stood on Palestine or West Bank settlements.

I remembered how sweet and touching the credits sequence was, with Betty getting roses and everyone applauding her and Betty looking so authentically moved by the response. Watched it again Saturday night and it was doubly sweet & touching. She was so happy to be there, and they were so happy to have her there. Won't see another star like that ever again. RIP.

I really hated that show. Watched every episode; many of them twice, but hated that show. I once mentioned to a friend how much more productive I would have been if we had Tivo back in the day. He correctly responded that I would have watched just as much TV, but it would have been better TV.
