Comedian Bernie Mac died at Northwestern Memorial hospital early Saturday morning, according to Sun-Times Columnist, Stella Foster. He was 50.

Though the cause of death has not been confirmed, Mac had been hospitalized recently for pneumonia. Foster said that she received calls early Saturday morning from a close friend of the Mac family, confirming the reports of Mac's death.

Boy, just be yourself.

If people don't like you for being yourself... **** 'EM!

Let me tell you something. I scored with a girl when I was about your age. I try to please her peppa all the time; wen' out my *way* to please her peppa.

I came in one day, I said, "Nice weather we having." He said, "You can't say that. You can't say that; it might rain."

I said, "Nice tie you got on." "You can't say that; wife try to choke me with it."

Point I'm trying to tell you, son, is be yourself. People who don't like ya for being yourself... **** 'EM! **** 'EM against the wall, with handcuffs on and crises on their lips!

Holy crap. I saw he had been hospitalized, but never thought it was this serious.

The absolute funniest part of the Original Kings of Comedy.

Loved him in Bad Santa. His show was pretty damn funny too. RIP.

Wow. I'm totally stunned by this. I was aware he was in the hospital. I seconded that about him being the funniest part of Kings of Comedy.

RIP to a great comedian who can make me laugh out loud anytime I hear his voice.

I called to tell my dad, because he loved the Bernie Mac show. He wasn't there, so I told my mom, who was stunned.

I then said the key thing, I think: He was one of the few guys who could get a network show and not be lame. I mean, it was a family show...but he was still Bernie Mac, you know? He didn't just meander around doing a lamer Bill Cosby. It was a good show.

This sucks.

Hedberg, Carlin, Bernie Mac, just to name a few ... all in the last few years. Doesn't seem fair that the funniest people are the ones leaving so soon.

Dat's some soft hands you got there. Do you moisturize? I've been fragrance free myself for a year now.

He learned to act, too, which is usually as reach for stand-ups (hello, Seinfeld). I enjoyed his don't-give-a-crap approach. 50 ... wow.

"Hey my brother, whatcha in for?"

he said, "Nothin'!"

I said "How long ya in for?"

He said "ever!"....now that's a long time if you take the "for" off that MFer.

R.I.P. to one of the best and definitely one of my favorites.

"Want me to get on the table and dance? Shine your shoes? Smile at you? You sure won't let me deal the cards.
"Blackjack?!? Might as well call it Whitejack!"

RIP Ramon Escalante :(
