Cam Cameron's got to be getting nervous.

He'll be the next one out. Cam didn't help his cause when the Dolphins were easily defeated by a ****ty team at home yesterday with Parcells at the stadium.

Billick's fate was sealed by the loss to the Dolphins. (Sorry, Simon.)

He wins that game, and avoids the infamy of losing to what may go down as one of the worst, most pathetic teams in NFL history, and he still has his job.

It's HOW he played that fourth-and-goal from 6 inches away.

I swear it was like he had the Dolphins +3 1/2.

Almost like he was coaching this season to get fired.

Notice that once Bisciotti said Billick was coming back, the season sped downhill.

(Edit: I know they'd lost seven consecutive games at that point, but the Miami loss really made things spiral toward Hades.)

Good luck finding another job.

He'll be the next one out. Cam didn't help his cause when the Dolphins were easily defeated by a ****ty team at home yesterday with Parcells at the stadium.

He made a half-dozen game-management moves that would have gotten a Pee-Wee coach fired.

Didn't see the game, but he would have a slightly better chance of staying if he managed a victory and ended the tough year on a positive note.

He's definitely gone, which isn't exactly a good thing for the future of NFL coaching. To have one season to prove yourself is ridiculous, especially with a franchise like the Dolphins who have not made serious noise since Marino was suiting up.

Is it because he is an arrogant prick or because his offenses suck or because as a play caller he was the worst?

Case in point -- the second half of the Patriots game. They can whine all about the ref's as much as they'd like but they lost because of this buffoon.

Secondly, Ray Lewis threw him under the bus earlier in the season, publicly questioning the ineffectiveness of the offense. I call bull**** in that the second half was all his fault. If his dumb-ass defensive coordinator had not called that timeout, and his players acting out like someone took their mommy away, they would have won the game. But, hindsight is 20/20...

I'm not so sure Billick gets another shot right away. He might have to take a job as an OC, and while I'm sure that's beneath his pompous ass, it's probably a good spot for him to succeed without too much pressure and get back in contention for a top job in a few years.

Billick deserved to canned, but can Ozzie Newsome be far behind? It wasn't Billick who had the final say on such QB studs as Tony Banks, Elvis Grbac, Jeff Blake, Kyle Boller and a Gimpy Steve McNair.

And this, people, is America's Most Shocking News of 12/31/2007. So much so, all the Stories of the Year competition should be thrown out and revoted.

Billick has been dead man walking for a couple of years. They just finally got tired of the stink. The Patriots finish and the game that followed sunk his ship for good.

I'll go one step further and say he's the next Jim Fassel (irony!)...a guy who had some success and was regarded as an offensive guru who lasted longer than usual as a head coach in one spot but never got a sniff of another head coaching gig. Fassel had a ton of interviews after he was poopcanned by the Giants but flunked them all...thought I read he came off as arrogant during the interview process, but someone who knows more about the Giants (line forms to the left) can confirm that.

The problem with Billick, of course, is that he's already known as an arrogant oaf who has a rep of offensive genius yet spent the last nine years setting offense back to the '20s. to paraphrase The Wolf, I see........a TV studio in Billick's future.

That said, I'll always laugh at the sight of Billick blowing a kiss to Rodney Harrison, who cheats and hits late and talks **** non-stop even though he's the leader of the pious Patriots.
