This is awful. Committed suicide at 71 after battling bipolar depression.

I couldn't think of a good way to segue into Revenge of the Nerds being my all-time favorite oh no I can't really admit this in public movie of all-time. So racist, so homophobic, so sexist, so rapey. But Jesus in 1985-86 we didn't know any better and my sister and I watched that everyday for two straight summers. We'll still occasionally drop a "I drink to that" or a Lamar javelin reference into conversation. The Nerds movies are horribly out of touch some 40 years later now, but his Lewis Skolnick will live on forever.
Had no idea the personal demons he faced. I had to experience it with my dad a few years ago.
I hope his soul is in peace now.
I have an uncle who probably had it mildly and undiagnosed until he was 60, when he suffered a major medical issue - necrotizing fasciitis. He recovered physically from the infection after a lengthy hospital stay, but his bipolar got significantly worse/out-of-control, which led to it being diagnosed for the first time in his life.Always thought bi-polar was something that presented in the 20s. Didn't realize Carradine was in The Cowboys with John Wayne, one of the Duke's best imho. I really need to check out The Long Riders with him and his brother, the Keaches, the Quaids and the Guests. Who would have thought Christopher Guest was ever in a western.
I thought he died in a bungled autoerotic exercise.David Carradine also died by suicide in Thailand in 2009.
Long Riders is outstanding. Ry Cooder did the music. David Carradine stole the movie as Cole YoungerLong Riders and Revenge of the Nerds are two of my all-time favorites.

Misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis are all too real. Got mine 15 years later than I should have because I was told originally I had depression and even then the doctor suspected maybe I was faking it.Always thought bi-polar was something that presented in the 20s.
Man, I don't know what to write, other than thank you for your honesty. And hope you're winning the fight.Misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis are all too real. We need you to check in. Drive by.Misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis are all too real. Got mine 15 years later than I should have because I was told originally I had depression and even then the doctor suspected maybe I was faking it.
I mean, it’s here and it doesn’t go away. I see a psychiatrist, I have medicine. Got my correct diagnosis 15 years ago. Been well under control for a while until this month when work pressures have risen up to tsunami levels. But I’m here plugging away.We need you to check in. Drive by.
OK? Please?
That is probably true, but same outcome.I thought he died in a bungled autoerotic exercise.
