Am putting this here instead of journalism because I figure I'll get an answer faster.

We don't have this in Canada so I need some help

If my client's name is John Scott the Third, what's the proper way of writing it? John Scott the 3rd? Third? Something else?

Have never seen it other than John Scott III, BUT I'm not a journo.
