What's the percentage of white fighters and white fans for the bouts?

I'm sure it's not as high as I might think it is, but whenever I see it on TV, I see white fighters. Whenever I happen into a restaurant or bar where it's on, the majority are fans are white.

It just strikes me as fighting for white people. Discuss.

There is some truth to this. The audience seems to be mostly suburban and rural which results in a white audience. One could argue that it is the result of the reverse I suppose. There was a NPR piece describing MMA as Boxing for the burbs.

Probably the best base skill for MMA is wrestling which might be one of the reasons. Boxing also just has that urban mystique to it.

MMA is huge in brazil and japan and there are a ton of non-white fighters out there that don't get the attention due to the UFCs dominance in the states.
