It deserves its own thread.

Agreed.

Now for the fun part: Delusional Cards fans convincing themselves they're better off without the best RH hitter of the last 50 years.

Insanity.

The owners really do need to protect themselves from themselves.

It's already started.

No more LaRussa or Pujols? The hatred for Carpenter and Molina just doesn't carry as much sizzle for me.

Interesting side note to the Pujols-to-Disneyland story is that the Angels appear ready to release Kendry Morales.

The self-same first-baseman that just a month ago the Angels were telling us fans would be the team's big "free-agent" signing this offseason.

Maybe he hasn't healed after all?

You just got Pujols and you're complaining about a misdirection play?

(Psst. I bet they were thinking about Pujols then too. They just didn't want to say it. Just a hunch.)

Not saying you don't grab Pujols ... but what do you do now with Mark Trumbo, who had 29 homers in 2011?

I'm not complaining.

Of course it's a crap contract and of course he's really 33 and of course his bat speed and production are on the slide, but...

...I'm happy to see Arte acting like he's the owner of a major market club flush with cash.

From a business standpoint, it might not be such a bad contract, if you consider it a 3-4 year insurance policy against the local market's coming wave of Dodger mania, once the team gets sold. Especially if the Dodgers end up moving downtown, thus sparking 2-3 years of enormous buzz in SoCal.

You put him at third, where he played this fall in Arizona, IIRC.

I'm stunned he actually left St. Louis. And this contract will be an albatross for the Angels.

Didn't know that. Thanks.
