Ahhh once again the chivalry brigade arrives to protect the dainty dignity of the self-professed wingnut warrior-princesses, the battle-grizzled grizzly mamas who want to jump in the ring and be treated just like everybody else.

COINCIDENTALLY, who incessantly push agendas which directly attack the health and security of the vast majority of all females in the United States (except the overwhelmingly rich, who will do fine as always).

The rough-tough warrior princesses are ready for battle -- and have shown no reluctance to spew thinly-veiled codewords about a certain evil force who has spread a DARKNESS over our land (cough cough ahem ahem) -- but we dare not refer to THEM by naughty nicknames. Because it's impolite.

Of course I get the same stuff when I call Herman Cain or Clarence Thomas "Uncle Toms," because that's "impolite" too. (Once again, almost always by people who endlessly spout veiled dog-whistle trigger words about a certain other colored-fella politician.)

Rep. Michele Bachmann kicked off her presidential campaign on Monday in Waterloo, Iowa, and in one interview surrounding the official event she promised to mimic the spirit of Waterloo's own John Wayne.

The only problem, as one eagle-eyed reader notes: Waterloo's John Wayne was not the beloved movie star, but rather John Wayne Gacy, the serial killer.

So, in retrospect, Jon Huntsman's rollout suddenly doesn't look so bad.

She reads the script, some boob below her does bad research. I don't see how that is automatically a negative on a woman when many of them juggle kids and a career.

Part of running a campaign -- or being President -- is hiring competent people you can trust to do a good job.

Bachmann's staff failed her here (if that's the case).

But, if she can't figure this **** out, who's going to be in her Cabinet?

As for how the press treats these missteps, there is clear bias.

Clinton, Clinton, Obama, etc. are presented to us as geniuses. So, when they screw up, it's a genius making a small mistake. No big deal. It doesn't change the media's opinion of them, and it shouldn't change our opinion of them.

But, Reagan, Bush, Quayle, Bush, Palin, Bachmann, etc. are presented to us as idiots.

So, when they screw up, it reinforces the image of them as idiots. The press blows it up as evidence of their idiocy. And, if you defend them, you're an idiot to.

But, if you highlight the Dems missteps, you're also an idiot becasue you're trting to prove the unprovable. How could you possibly believe their mistakes are anything other than a simple mistake by a terribly smart candidate?

As for Starman, it's sad.

He has the ability to be a smart, thoughtful poster.

But instead, he fights for the right to use disparaging, misogynistic terms. And, if you disagree with him, you're the one with the problem.

He's an embarrassment on the level of Mark2010 as it now stands. And while everyone on this board (save Print) calls Mark what he is, Starman gets a pass because he's on the left.

A further embarrassment.

I can't access it at work, so I haven't read it, but is there any chance in hell that Matt Taibbi wrote a fair and balanced article on Bachmann? This is the same writer and magazine that compared W. to Hitler and wrote that John McCain would be worse than W.

Taibbi is a brilliant writer. Clearly one of, if not the, best out there. But I can't imagine it being a fair profile. I can't wait to read it. But I think it will be a brilliantly-written hatched job.

If someone wants to cut and paste the article here and prove me wrong, go right ahead.
