I can't help but to think there is something more to it because I have seen more than once a teacher having sex with an 18-year-old student and have nothing worse happen then being fired.

Come on. I thought the same thing. And it is a little more complicated than just being all consensual adults. Teachers can't have sex with students because of the power they hold over the students and the vulnerability of kids. But in this case, it's tough to say that she should face felony charges since she was no longer teaching them and they were of age. This woman has some issues, but can't see sending her to jail for this.
