A fifth-grade teacher at a Milwaukee school was charged Tuesday with sexually assaulting her 11-year-old student last month, part of an ongoing relationship she told police was intended to make the "chronically depressed" boy feel happy.

Judging by some of the bizarre threads I see here that have been labeled "Poin", I don't think the collective intelligence of the group can withstand any more rules. It is so basic, yet it gets botched all the time:

Besides, I remember one story where the middle school kid was 15.

This is sick and there's nothing that's the least bit humorous about it.

But also, I'm surprised that I'm surprised by this:

Voucher schools are not required by law to conduct or make public the results of background checks on staff, and voucher-school teachers are not required by law to have a state teaching license, which requires a background check.

And yet, they can get my tax dollars. That's messed-up.

Plausible, since some middle schools take in ninth grade. But fifth grade? Yeah, the glove fits, but still ...
