A friend suggested I go there - I can't even remember how it came up - and my son went ballistic. He sicced the Man Card Police (very scary dudes) on me. I didn't get a chance to fully explore.

Is it a women's only thing?

I don't know if it is a woman's only thing, Moddy, but the only other person I know who uses it is a female friend of mine....and she said she would stop using it for a reason I don't recall.

I was fully prepared to go there and proclaim it was a girlie thing.

But no, it's more like a Facebook type of thing if you don't want to invest time in Facebook.

My wife is an addict.

It's definitely a woman thing. Unless you are interested in people's creative cupcake designs. Then it can be your thing, as well. Not that there would be anything wrong with that.

I clicked on one woman's food board, and the recipes there made my mouth water.

If it's a female thing ...

I signed up. There's a waiting list; we'll see how long.

I've seen about 50 recipes I want to pin in one place. My wife will love the quilting boards. There's just a little bit of everything.

No worries, Moddy. I had my woman card revoked years ago for posting on this board.

You learn to live without it.

I have an account on Pinterest. But I ruined my man card one morning when I couldn't find an ice scraper. There is some funny **** under the humor section, and MrsExpendable has found and tried some good recipes, so there's that.

Didn't your son already take your card for the man-purse, Moddy?

And that homepage looks like a mess, seemingly not user friendly

I thought most women lost it while horseback riding?

Deceiving. If you're looking for food, just search for "food" in the window.

And if you see something you like, you click the subject right under the photo.

The thing I can't figure is how you actually get on it. I followed a link and went on and signed up and they sent me back something telling me I was on a "waiting list." That can't be true, is it?

I don't really know what it is, but my fiance is so invested it allows me to watch any game most nights. So yay Pinterest!

Pinterest = Woman only thing

LinkedIn = Both sexes
Reddit = Both sexes, but leans a lot more towards men

I must be getting old ... never, ever heard of Reddit.

From what I have heard, you have to be "invited" by a current member. Which probably explains the waiting list part. I bet you can skip that if you get an invite.
