I'm sure some people watched the fight on ESPN. The hometown kid, Jeff Horn, gets a unanimous decision over Manny Pacquiao, despite the fight nearly being stopped after the eighth round.

Teddy Atlas was losing his ****, as Teddy Atlas tends to do. He was not alone.



Personally, I agreed with Tim Bradley Jr.'s assessment early in the 12th round, that the fight was closer than some people (read: Atlas) thought. But man ... Horn's a warrior, but he was beaten up pretty good.

I was thinking maybe 7-5 Pacquiao in rounds, with a 10-8 eighth round.

I get in this "mood" watching ESPN fights, and it's always about Teddy. He's just so smug, like he's the only guy who truly knows how a fight should be scored. Last night, it got to the point where I'm sure I cracked a smile as Horn was handed the decision after Atlas had spent four rounds telling the world how outclassed he was.

117-111 was someone filling out their scorecard before walking into the stadium. It was a ridiculous decision. Horn certainly was a warrior but he did not win that fight.

Exactly.

It was another Pacquiao fight a few years ago -- I think it was Pacquiao-Bradley -- that got me to quit watching boxing altogether. If you give a **** about the fight you'd better hope for a knockout, because otherwise the decision has absolutely nothing to do with what happens in the ring.

I've certainly seen worse travesties, probably in the last 12 months. I'd still watch boxing over UFC or MMA any day.

You know, if the judges had at least scored it close boxing might not be taking so much **** today. But for the guy who really got his ass kicked to be awarded a unanimous decision, and on one card by a preposterous 117-111 score, is explainable by nothing other than unconscionable corruption. **** boxing forever.
