P.J. to coach Sonics

Met him one night in North Bennington when word got out he was at a private dinner at a small upscale bistro. He was nice enough when I went to the bistro to get a few quotes but couldn't give me more than a minute or two.

Any thoughts on giving him the keys?

Kidding aside, I like this hire. He's done some excellent work as an assistant in San Antonio. There's no reason why he can't develop a strong team despite the apparent loss of Rashard Lewis.

PJ is a good guy and a decent coach who got a bad deal in the NBA because of one of the biggest assholes in all of sports.

Problem with that line of thinking is that P.J. also had a chance in Portland, albeit with an aging Drexler and supporting cast, once Adelman left.

Problem with that line of thinking is that P.J. also had a chance in Portland, albeit with an aging Drexler and supporting cast, once Adelman left.

And made the playoffs three straight years with a mediocre team...which is why they lost in the first round all three years.
