Not sure why you're going to Muskogee, but I'll tell you what I know.

Barbecue is the best bet in Muskogee and there's a couple solid options. Mahylon's and Smokehouse Bob's are the two best, in my opinion. There's also a pretty good Mexican food place there, El Charro.

As for drinking, there's really not much. Mulligan's is a decent little hole-in-the-wall, but that's about it, unless something else has opened recently.

I'm staying somewhere 'round Auburn, though I'm flying via Atlanta.

Nobody saw fit to help me plan my Alabama adventure, but I'll still pass along some advice to SEC beat writers.

When in Auburn, have burgers at Niffers, not Cheeburger Cheeburger. Also, if you can round up four friends, splurge on a fishbowl.

Also be sure to check out The Supper Club, especially if the Velcro Pygmies are playing.

There ain't much else 'round that way, except Little Mo's and Cold Stone Creamery. But that's just this Yankee's opinion.

Turtle is referring to Three Brothers pizza. The mall it's in is just a little less than friendly however.

Cornerstone is a cool bar and has real good burgers right on Route 1 just south of campus. If you're a healthier eater check out Jungle Grille just north of campus in a plaza on Route 1. For a good deli or Greek food check out Marathon Deli. It's barely off campus on the south end. GREAT food.

Not to be a ****, guys, but I was dumbfounded by the lack of a bar scene in College Park. Three bars, are you kidding me? However, I got good and schnockered in TD's Filling Station, or whatever it was called. And saw a fantastic fight outside the joint late Saturday night. Santa Fe seemed like it had potential, but it was about to close when I got there. Also, we went to some all-night BBQ joint down in that area after drinking heavily. Can't say if the food was great or not, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Still, thanks for the advice. A good time was had by all.

No you're right, the bar scene is wayyyyyy lame. And neighbors still complain, even while living in a place called COLLEGE Park.

Not sure what TD's is, but I think I may know where you're talking about. In a previous life it was the bar where everyone went to drink at the age of 18 because they didn't care about ID. I haven't partied there in a couple of year's though, mostly because it makes me feel old and the bars are as mentioned, on the lame side.

Too late to help anybody now, but in Oklahoma City, steer clear of Earl's Ribs in Bricktown unless your idea of barbecue is flavorless meats with bland sauces.

Too bad, too. The place is nice, and agood location. And they had great looking t-shirts that would have made qa nice souvenir. But I can't bring myself to wear a shirt from a place that if anyone asked I would have to say "the food was boring but the shirt was cool."

I heard raves about the ribs at Coaches, located at the AAA ballpark. Didn't get there myself.

Also have to say, I was not all that impressed by Bricktown, or the rest of the city. Hard to imagine they built the Ford Center dreaming of an NBA or NHL franchise. OKC is def. not big league.

I ducked into Amherst, Mass., this weekend for the NCAA hockey regionals. Didn't get to check out much, but had dinner at the Amherst Brewing Company (sweet potato fries and southwest burger were yummy, and split an order of dragon fries and deep-fried dill pickle spears), then went to Bart's for coffee and bagels the next day.

Regardless of the time limitations, I'll put Amherst on my top 20 list of college towns.

You're better off eating in Manhattan (there are Red Sox and SOSH bars), then taking the train to the Urinal.

If you eat in the Bronx, you're taking your life into your hands...

there are two sox friendly places i can think of the top of my head.

A - Riveria (sp) - Seventh Avenue south i think near w.4 street, it's the one fox always cut to during the playoffs.

b - the hairy monk - east 25th and third avenue.

As for eating near the stadium, there's the standard fare, mcdonald's, burger king, crown fried chicken on gerard, which is actually pretty good.

For sitting down, there's the court deli, which is up the block on E.161 right across from the courthouse. gets very crowded but decent.

The bars are nothing special, typical stuff near a ballpark but should you venture in one, there are three on river avenue:

Stan's, Billy's and the bar at ballpark lanes. The last one seems to have the most space and is very civilized for the most part.

There's quite a few Dunkin Donuts' in Dover. Or you could try Stuckey's when you get down toward Va.

Sorry, that probably wasn't much help at all. I used to have to do the Route 13 drive years and years ago on vacations from Va. Beach up to New England. All I can say is, I hope you have a nice collection of CDs in your car.

I've heard good things about a place called Peggy's in Greenwood. You'll be able to skip lunch apparently. Just watch out for the cops. 90-something percent of Greenwood's revenue comes from speeding tickets on Route 13.

In addition you can always try the Chick-Fil-A chicken biscuits in Salisbury about 45 minutes or so more an hour down the road. And if you want Delmar itself, well don't be too picky. Yeah, there is a city called Delmar, half of which is in Delaware and the other half in Maryland. That's opposed to Marydel, which is apparently all in Maryland.

Next time you are in New Orleans, do yourself a favor and take $20 and your room key and your ID to the New Orleans Athletic Club downtown.

This is the coolest gym I've ever been to. It was built in the 19th Century at another location and moved to its current spot in 1903 and was renovated competely in 1907 -- and looks to have been left untouched since!

The place has new, modern treadmills and aerobic equipment, slightly older workout machines, then classic free weights. Plus it has a huge pool, spa, sauna, etc. The walls a covered in pictures of classic boxers who trained there and, yes, there's still a real boxing ring for workouts.

Perhaps the coolest place is the basketball gym on the top floor. It's the place Pistol Pete used to practice at, and you can feel his ghost there. The floor remains the same, untouched; the rims are the softest I've ever shot on. In the corner is a 100-year-old workout room, complete with Popeye-type dumbells and barbells. All you need is a beefy guy with a handlebar moustache and you'd be in 1919!

It even has a barber for a shave, a bar for a whiskey or a protein drink staffed by a smokin-hot babe, and a dusty old library complete with a week's worth of papers from all over the world.

I can not say enough about this joint. And if you visit at the right time, I'm told, you'll see several of Bourbon street's finest strippers working out.

It's a throwback kinda joint that is the epitome of Old School.

Definitely the place to go in town if you want good seafood or a steak but don't want to go to a chain.

One thing I can say about Flag is that the variety of locally owned restaurants is superb. You can get great food of just about every variety without ever stepping foot into one of those big chain restaurants.
