is there a correct way to identify the time frame when something occurs in Beijing?
Phelps won the gold saturday night here, but sunday morning over there.
So, should it be Michael Phelps won his first gold medal Saturday night?
Or, Michael Phelps won his first gold medal Sunday morning?

Yeah, we are going with China time, though we are taking out the morning, night, afternoon parts.

We are a PM paper which means we will get a lot of stuff in that won't be broadcast until NBC shows it later at night, so our big worry is if people will be pissed about the spoilers our paper is providing.

Not that uncommon when dealing with news stories from Asia. Hell, I figure if anything, it makes us look more advanced. "Look, Ma! They have news from today!"

NBC's problem, not yours. People are moving heaven and earth to find ways to watch NBC's taped events live as they happen; there's a high level of interest in seeing it as it happens, rather than in exciting presented-as-live EbersolVision.

That's always a good time, although it's probably what led to "Freeze Frame," which is not in the top 10 of lame SportsCenter gimmicks but still annoying.

No, that's later today. London's 5 hours ahead of New York. Beijing's 12 hours ahead.
