Great story and Gola does his usual good job. Cindy Morgan appeared at a charity tournament in our area a few years ago and she was great in an interview and a very cool chick. The kind who can have a beer with the boys and hold her own.

She told me some tidbits Gola either didn't get from her or left out:

1. Cindy Morgan and the guy who played D'Nunnzio hooked up and lived together for about two years after the movie.

2. Her favorite line about the late-night partying: "when a production assistant ran through the halls of the motel yelling, 'the Eagle has landed,' you knew the connection was out in the parking lot."

3. The Dalai Lama scene was never in any script, original or modified. They were prepping the caddie barn for the fight/bubble gum machine scene ("You ain't gettin' no coke!") and Murray was hanging around. He picked up the pitchfork and started launching into this stream of consciousness thing with the caddie. Ramis told the guy to start filming and don't stop until he was done.

4. About the same for the flower bed scene. Morgan said Ramis told Murray to take the rake, go into the flower bed, pretend he was winning the Masters. His quote to the cameraman: "keep filming until he gets tired."

5. She said Chase was the hardest guy to get along with. Said Rodney was a beautiful guy, as nice as he could be to everyone.

Can't read enough about Caddyshack, and I'm sure I know everything there is to know about the greatest golf flick ever.

I was in a Golfsmith store a few weeks back and there was a line of Caddyshack-themed shirts with quotes and the like. Pretty cheesy but I'm sure someone buys them. When I was a kid I bought a "Bushwood Country Club" t-shirt for my dad, one of those Father's Day gifts that ends up at the bottom of a dresser.

Years later, Bill Murray became part-owner of the minor league ballclub in Charleston, S.C., where my folks live. Dad had tickets to the season-opener and managed to corral Murray in the parking lot, and pulled out that t-shirt (I'm sure it hadn't seen daylight in a decade). Murray graciously signed it to me and my siblings, and I have it framed in my office.
