I'm no Irish fan, TSP, but you trash them, then say they'll go 10-3. God, how fraudulently awful that would be. It's not like they're being asked to face a bunch of Sun Belt and C-USA teams. They're a solid team that will always be trashed because there is an equally obnoxious faction wanting them sainted.

And because they make X amount of money on the NBC deal that no one else in college football can touch. It's the arrogance of that program that irks people, not so much their fans -- like my fiancee.

The NBC deal makes it even more amazing, the lengths that ABC/ESPN will go to power-fellate ND at every possible opportunity. They go to absolutely Olympian lengths to promote the marquee attraction of another network.

If I ran ABC/ESPN, you'd never see or hear a peep about ******* Notre Dame on my network. As far as I would be concerned, they wouldn't exist. Until I could sign them to MY network, of course.

Why wouldn't a network air ND games? Say what you will about them--and I have and will continue to do so--they bring ratings. Notre Dame is as close to a National school as there is. People watch the Irish for two reasons: (1) To see them win and (2) to see them get their ass kicked.

It benefits ABC, ESPN, Fox Sports and CBS to air ND games. Ratings equal advertisers. Advertisers equal money.

That's my favorite part of the OSU-UM rivalry. Every Ohio State fan I know wants Michigan to be 0-10 and be outscored 567-3 going into the OSU game. Every UM fan I know wants OSU to be 10-0 with every OSU fan thinking national championship so UM can crush their hopes.

When Ohio State scheduled that cupcake today, that cupcake was coming off a couple pretty good years. NIU did flirt with the Top 25 rankings a couple years ago.

That's the thing with football scheduling sometimes. A mid-major school puts together a pretty good year and can get on a Top 25 team's schedule. But by the time that game rolls around, the mid-major has slipped a bit.

They're frauds if they choose to rely on Brady Quinn to get them into a BCS bowl, that's for damn sure. If Quinn throws 38 times a game, Notre Dame is going to go 8-4, at best.

True. But I also don't like Weis's aggresive game calling at times. Yeah sure, sometimes it works out for him but I'm expecting it to backfire on him at one point. An example was when he went for it on 4th down at the end of the 4th quarter. If GTech would've stuffed Notre Dame on that play, they would've had excellent field position and a lot of time(I think there was 1:30 left or something like that) to get the ball in the endzone and win the game.
