Former USC and San Diego Chargers football star Junior Seau sustained unknown injuries Monday morning after the car he was driving plunged off a cliff in San Diego County.

Re: Say "Owwwwwwwww"

MB, man, this thread title is like is eating chocolate with orange juice.

I hope no one dies as a result of all of this.

Re: Say "Owwwwwwwww"

He was arrested for assault early this morning, and drove off this cliff right after being released from jail.

I know the area he drove off very well. It was raining this morning in San Diego, but I can't imagine he could've lost control and not been able to brake in time. The road is not THAT close to the cliff. There's no guardrail there because accidents like this are nearly impossible at that location.

It appears he's not seriously hurt, and I'm glad for that.

By the way, this thread title is terrible. Do we have any headline writers here?

Re: Say "Owwwwwwwww"

Let's see ... potential Hall of Fame linebacker assaults girl friend, gets arrested, upon release drives off cliff, is lucky to have sufered only minor injuries.

And some dimwit starts a thread with a play on the guy's name as the thread title.
Does the "m" in mb mean "moron?"

Re: Say "Owwwwwwwww"

In a worst thread title hall of fame this wouldn't come close

Re: Say "Owwwwwwwww"

Maybe Ilmago can start a worst thread title thread...he likes those kind of things

Re: Say "Owwwwwwwww"

Next thread subject: Should "Say Owwwww" be inducted into the headline thread HOF?

Seriously, glad Seau is not seriously injured, but obviously, the guy has some problems (both legal and mental).

Funny, after I wrote that I thought the same thing

Re: Say "Owwwwwwwww"

Looking at the photos, I'm amazed he wasn't killed. That looks like quite a drop. And you can see the tire treads that go straight off the cliff -- no sign he was trying to correct the vehicle.

Luckily for Seau, that cliff is not a straight vertical drop. I'm sure he made initial impact after only a 10-foot drop or so.

Still, if he escaped serious injury, he's probably pretty lucky.

Re: Say "Owwwwwwwww"

Deion Sanders tried to kill himself by driving off a cliff.

TO tried to kill himself with pain killers. (He denied it.)

Vince Young was rumored to be driving around thinking about killing himself.

Broncos WR just killed himself a few weeks ago.

Now Seau.

Probably none of them have anything to do with taking repeated shots to the head for years and years.

It's possibly related. It's also possible that a certain percentage of the population deals with depression and the NFL is no different.

If Chris Henry is any indication, the hits to the head magnify troubles already present in the brain.

Between him and Merriman, good to see some Chargers are at least beating someone.

Deion took repeated shots to the head?

Had to be from Baseball because I've never saw him attempt a tackle on the football field.

We also need to add Herschel Walker into the possible brain impared. He tried to kill himself when he was with the Vikings.
