Speaking of Mickey Thomas ...

"Starship's 1989 "Love Among the Cannibals" tour was postponed after (drummer's name) attacked Thomas in a bar. The damage was such that it required facial reconstruction surgery. (Drummer) resigned after the incident."

This house in Seaside, Florida, served as Truman's home. The house is owned by the Gaetz family, which includes U.S. politicians Don and Matt Gaetz.
Years ago I wrote a travel story about Seaside and stayed in Domino, a charming shotgun split where the living area was above the first level garage. Nice, but had to lug a big suitcase up the outdoor spiral staircase. This was before rich assholes ruined the place.

If you got the money and/or someone willing to let you tag along, the 30A beaches could quickly become an addicting lifestyle. Entire well-heeled Birmingham suburbs adjourn there every summer, with Atlanta and Nashville right behind them.

Although the Temple Lot church solicited donations for its proposed temple from individuals and even from other Latter Day Saint organizations,[29] little money was forthcoming (none from the other organizations), and construction never progressed beyond excavating for the structure's foundation. This unsightly hole was filled in by the city of Independence in 1946, after the Temple Lot church had finally abandoned all efforts on the project.

Also, despite denying it so many times, Vanessa admits that she may be a little evil, as she once helped her father escape from custody by posing her hairdryer as a pistol

... < his > no-hitter is just one of ten in baseball history in which a pitcher did not walk or hit a batter, but whose perfect game bid was foiled by a fielding error.

After the second game, McKechnie had coach Hank Gowdy bring all the players together in the locker room, stating, "I want to tell you something. Willard Hershberger has just destroyed himself."

On November 3, 1964, Illinois chose all 177 members of the state's House of Representatives in a single at-large election. The government was required to draw new electoral districts before the election, each of which would choose three representatives, but both the legislative process and a special commission failed to produce a district map. As a result, the state's constitution mandated that all 177 representatives were to be elected from a statewide at-large district. The Republican Party and the Democratic Party each nominated 118 candidates to appear on the ballot (specimen pictured); voters were allowed to choose up to 177.

Best enjoyed a wide range of hobbies and interests. He was an accomplished painter, a guitarist,[1] and a black belt in karate;[1]enjoyed writing;[1] and ran his own acting school. His students included Lindsay Wagner, Roger Miller, Glen Campbell, Quentin Tarantino, and Regis Philbin.
That could almost be describing Elvis. He was a big fan of karate (along with drugs and underage girls) later in his life. But I don’t think “the King” ever earned a black belt.

Paul Perkins, a journalism student upset with tuition increases, requested that the university release the salary of visiting professor Jehan Sadat. Holderman balked and refused to release the details even after Perkins and his wife Cheryl filed a Freedom of Information Actrequest. This denial and the secrecy on the part of the administration led the media to scrutinize other aspects of Holderman's presidency. They inspected his travel budgets and construction contracts and found overwhelming evidence of financial irregularities and extravagant spending. In face of all the negative publicity, Holderman resigned in 1990. Holderman would later be convicted of laundering drug money in 2003.
