Nike is on to something great! They're investing $650k in grants in youth sports. I encourage you to check out NikeBackYourBlock.com to learn more or enter your organization to win.

Back Your Block is a site Nike launched to accept grant applications for up to $5000 in cash and Nike products to help support organizations and schools with programs in sports, education, advocacy and/or mentoring.

This is a great program, and I ask that if you agree please spread awareness about the campaign and get additional groups involved.

There are two ways to share the message about NikeBackYourBlock.com. You can encourage youth-focused organizations in your community to apply, OR you can support current applicants by sharing the site with your friends and family and challenging them to vote.

Collaboration with people like you will help spread the word about this program and help get organizations the support they deserve.

OK, look. I'm going to say this, and I don't care who I **** off. This typecasting of poin as only posting about HS teachers is a sham, and it's stupid and it's weak and it's pathetic.

It's ANY administrative person. Principals don't get off the hook, nor do middle school teachers.

Have some respect.

I have a couple of trees in my backyard that could function as goal posts.

The application for my grant is in the mail.

Mustang regrets the error.

Thanks for having my back.

But its not any administrative person. Its female teachers/admin only. The male teaching profession could be having a mass orgy in the school gym locker and I don't care.

I'll go to this web site when you let me see Lebron get dunked on.

I might care. :D

Dang. We just had a meeting about this two weeks ago and were told to encourage local (deserving) organizations to apply for it. I'm surprised someone from Nike would post it on this board. I mean, I work for Nike but never did I think to advertise it here or anywhere for that matter.

Back to the original post. I think we're being a bit harsh. I mean, some people would concentrate on the fact that Nike had sales of $19.5 billion last year or that it made a profit of $1.635 billion, when thinking about the company, but as MrYouth helpfully pointed out they are very charitably investing $650,000 in youth sports grants.

And isn't that worthy of our adulation? When was the last time any of YOU donated .000000003 (or something like that) of your income to a particular charitable endeavor and didn't hire a PR firm to have someone register on a media message board just so you could get some good press from it?

Lighten up everyone, OK?

Sorry, we're an And One website, so tell your story walking.

And1!?!

Does this mean I have to stop wearing Birkenstocks? (Don't answer that, IJAG.)

I am so damned lame that I forgot it was 1 and not One. As if I needed proof that I left the 18-34 demo this year.

I WILL say this: if the money is going to reclaim blocks taken over by Crocs, I am all in.
