I have PS2. Overall, it's worth ;D ;D ;D / 5

Good:
*Adjusted rosters and jerseys
*Passing stick
*Better defense; shot totals are more realistic after 10mins
*Price (almost half the cost of Madden/NFL 07)
*Intro video
*Real photos for menu

Bad:
*No more skill stick?
*Play-by-play
*Goalie can't catch the puck in glove
*Scoring is too easy; simply walk in the high slot and go top cheese
*In the trailer, they showed Ovie putting the puck between his legs. In 07, however, you can't even make a single manual deak. False advertising.
*Some rinks have the name, while others are just called by the city. Why?

That's why you need to go next-gen -- it's amazing for Xbox 360! The visuals of the goalies watching the puck into their glove, or going down in the butterfly to make a pad save are just awesome. Pretty much all of your negatives for the PS2 version are taken care of in the 360 version.

I'm not a huge hockey fan, but I rented last year's NHL 2K6 and I loved it. Ovechkin is a monster on that game.

For sheer fun, nothing beats hockey video games. Nothing. Up and down action, one-timers all over the place. Plus it's the only game where you and a friend can realistically team up and try to do something.

Last time I saw my buddy in Atlanta, we tried to take a team to the cup. The only problem was we were too enamored with trying to kill people on defense, and gave up our fair share of 3-on-0's. Whoops.
