Visiting embassies can be fun too. There is a guide called Embassy Events that can help you find special events.
If you have a clearance though, you have to report each Embassy visit because it is considered foreign travel.
The downside of DC: Traffic, parking, cost.
And being surrounded largely by self-centered assholes.
But, yeah, everything else is pretty great.
Assholes are everywhere.
That reminds me of a quiz I heard recently. I hope I don't screw this up - name the eight Federal government services/agencies that have military ranks. EDIT: Actually only seven now. One I was thinking of transformed into a current one. And a hint for anyone trying to look this up: Uniformed Services is probably the term I was trying to remember.
Whenever I go to Georgetown, which is not often since the Rhino Bar closed, I take the Metro to Rosslyn and walk over the Key Bridge. It's a really nice stroll and you miss most of the traffic debacles.
