Not to belabor the point, but the assholes are also fully represented. And it's very noticeable when one first moves here.

My office had an apartment in Georgetown that I stayed at for weeks at a time over a two-year period in the mid-'80s. It was a great place to spend time.

Whenever I go to Georgetown, which is not often since the Rhino Bar closed , I take the Metro to Rosslyn and walk over the Key Bridge. It's a really nice stroll and you miss most of the traffic debacles.

Strictly on the merits of the locations, I would have said LA/Long Beach. But if you've got a chance at something that prestigious, you can't pass up Georgetown (and DePaul would be a clearly better fallback to CSU-LB).

That reminds me of a quiz I heard recently. I hope I don't screw this up - name the eight Federal government services/agencies that have military ranks. EDIT: Actually only seven now. One I was thinking of transformed into a current one. And a hint for anyone trying to look this up: Uniformed Services is probably the term I was trying to remember.

I live in Rosslyn -- I'm looking at the Georgetown cathedral spires right now -- and it is a nice stroll, both to Georgetown for whatever and in my case, Foggy Bottom for work.

Well, I guess I don't impress that easily. I'm not that into all the actors/actresses, although they are all notable people. Still, I'm not sure they make the city notable, and I think I'm on point in my description/sense of it.

Do you like Long Beach? If so, why? I could probably think of 20 cities in Southern California I'd rather go to, especially for any length of time, before I came up with Long Beach.
